J. Patricia (Sullivan) Towey, age 77, passed away peacefully at Newport Hospital on Wednesday, October 24th, 2012, after a brief illness.

Pat was born on June 3rd, 1935, in Newport, Rhode Island to Timothy J. and Julia (Lynch) Sullivan of West Street.

Pat was a graduate of St. Catherine Academy, class of 1953 and a graduate of Bryant College.

In passing, Pat leaves her husband of 49 years, Michael J. Towey of Newport, her son Timothy M. Towey and his wife, Hollie of Newport and her daughter Jill Towey Gallagher and her husband, Patrick and their children Max and Kelly of Orlando, Florida; her sister Margaret (Sullivan) Ahearn of Springfield, MA, her brother in law Elliott J. Carter of Portsmouth, RI. Pat was predeceased by her sister Eileen (Sullivan) Carter. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 27th, at 10:15am in St. Joseph Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport, RI. Burial will be at St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown, RI.

Calling hours will be held today from 4-7pm at O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport, RI.
